CSTA Strategic Plan

This plan was developed by the CSTA Board of Directors for the planning years beginning January 2008. This document outlines the Association's goals and objectives for the next three years, and identifies relevant strategies and deliverables required to achieve these goals.

This document has been organized to provide a multi-level view of the results of CSTA's strategic planning process. Section 2 examines the current research relating to achieving educational change and positions CSTA's efforts to support and improve K-12 computer science education within the context of the current crises in pre-college computer science. Section 3 outlines CSTA's efforts to work with key stakeholder groups to maximize the potential for substantial and lasting educational change. It provides a brief outline of current and planned initiatives with organizational, academic, and industry partners. Section 4.1 lists all of the CSTA deliverables by key change component while Section 4.2 lists all of the CSTA initiatives by date, deliverable and committee of responsibility. All of the deliverables included in these sections are drawn directly from the strategic plans of the Standing Committees. Section 5 contains the detailed strategic plans of each of the CSTA Standing Committees. These include:

  • Certification
