Auburn University, Auburn, AL
Auburn's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) offers three ABET accredited degrees: a highly flexible B.S. degree in Computer Science, the first Bachelor of Software Engineering degree offered at a public university, and the nation's only Bachelor of Wireless Engineering degree. Cornell University, Ithaca, NY
Cornell University's Department of Computer Science is consistently ranked among the top five CS departments in the U.S. Committed to undergraduate education, CS professors at Cornell have developed an array of interdisciplinary courses to introduce students to CS, including AI, robotics, social networks, and computing in the arts. Advanced students as early as their first year can participate on nationally competitve project teams and most CS students work with faculty on supervised research and/or pursue cooperative internships at companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, Yahoo!, Amazon, and CISCO. Cornell CS is also home to the Game Design Initiative at Cornell and offers a minor in Game Design. The Computer Science major is offered through two different colleges at Cornell: the College of Engineering (B.S.) and the liberal arts College of Arts and Sciences (B.A.), allowing CS students access to faculty and relevant courses in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and across the engineering disciplines. Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI
The Department of Computer Science at Michigan Technological University offers three B.S. degree programs: a B.S. in Computer Science, a B.S. in Software Engineering, and a B.S. in Computer Systems Science. All three programs start with the same core foundation; thus students can take two years to learn more about the computing field before committing to a degree program. The Department also offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science. Qualified students can earn a B.S. and a M.S. degree in 5 years by taking a few graduate courses their fourth year under "Senior Rule". Our Department also cooperates with other departments to offer B.S. degrees in Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics and Cheminformatics. Students have a wide range of opportunities to apply their computing knowledge and gain valuable experience through the University's Enterprise program, through a wide range of on-campus research projects, and/or through part-time and co-op work experiences.
